Open Arms Lutheran Child Development Center
Full Time Programs

Infant Program

Infant care is provided for babies ages six weeks to 12 months and walking. Open Arms has one infant room. The infant room has the capacity for six babies with two teachers.

The teachers use creative lesson planning, soft music and individual interaction to stimulate eye-hand coordination and develop new skills and abilities.

Toddler Program

We have multiple Toddler programs, one is provided for children who are 12 months to 20 months, 20 months to 30 months, and 2 ½ years to 3 1/2 years of age for early preschool which is a transition classroom from toddler to preschool.

In these classrooms we focus on language development, social/emotional development, cognitive development, gross motor skills and potty training.

Preschool Programs

For children enrolled full time at Open Arms, preschool curriculum is taught in the three and four year old classes and in the pre-kindergarten class.

Families not requiring full time child care enroll their children in our part time preschool offering classes for three/four year olds on Tuesday/Thursday mornings. Pre-kindergarten is on Monday/Wednesday/Friday morning and afternoon or Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday afternoons (12:00 PM to 3:00 PM). Class times are either 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM or noon to 2:30 PM unless noted otherwise.

Our preschool teachers work with local kindergarten teachers to develop curriculum that promotes kindergarten readiness.

The goal of the teachers is to prepare children for their kindergarten experiences. Their weekly lessons include using both teacher-directed and child-directed activities. The teacher-directed activities allow children to participate in skill level activities. The child-directed activities allow children to develop cooperation and problem solving skills.

Before and After School Program

The before and after school day child care program provides care for Full-day Kindergarten through 4th grades. Transporting to all 5 elementary schools.  The teachers provide a variety of enrichment activities including games, physical fitness, stories and adventures.

Summer Programs

Our Summer childcare camps allow children from first through fourth grades to explore a variety of interests.

Throughout the Summer the children have opportunities to take field trips that enhance their camp experience. They also take frequent visits to the public library and surrounding parks.
