Our Philosophy

Open Arms Lutheran Child Development Center is dedicated to offering each child a quality educational program, as well as sharing God's unconditional love so that they and their families may grow, mature, and become part of a community of fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

It is our Vision...

- To nurture every aspect of a child's development, while reaching out to the family and community as a whole.

- To value each child as a unique and special child of God, while encouraging their individuality and promoting their self-esteem.

- To provide a balanced program to meet the total needs of the child to grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.

- To value a child's play experience as an avenue of learning and provide a developmentally appropriate program for all children of any race, creed, nationality, or ethnic background.

- To provide a safe, stimulating, hand-on environment for children to interact with others and to increase their ability and knowledge within a small group experience.

Open Arms Lutheran Child Development Center is currently accredited through the National Lutheran Schol Accreditation.

NLSA accreditation logo

National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA) is a process of self-evaluation followed by a visit of objective observers designed to help Lutheran schools improve the quality of their programs. The process is completely voluntary and available for every school operated by a single congregation, by an association of congregations, or by a Recognized Service Organization of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or the Lutheran Church-Canada. NLSA is a rigorous national accrediting process designed to evaluate schools based on their unique purpose as Lutheran schools. It helps schools evaluate not only the quality of the academics and programs, but also most importantly the spiritual dimension of the school. The "Standards for Lutheran Schools" and report forms are similar to those used by other accrediting agencies, both secular and religious. The National Accreditation Commission that is made up of representatives from various participating districts of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and the Lutheran Church-Canada governs NLSA. The process is owned and operated by the District and Congregation Services of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and is a service of the LCMS School Ministry. Over 500 schools of all types are currently accredited by NLSA. To nurture the spiritual and professional development of our staff; thereby enriching their lives.
